AGROBIOTECHNOLOGY
The purpose of the Undergraduate Academic Studies program in Agrobiotechnology is to educate highly competent professionals trained to apply modern biotechnological methods and digital technologies in the field of agricultural plant production. The program is directly aligned with the strategic goals of the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad and the needs for innovation in the agricultural sector, particularly in the context of sustainable development and adaptation to climate change.
The study program is designed to ensure the acquisition of fundamental theoretical and applied knowledge in the fields of general microbiology, genetics, plant biochemistry, and phytopharmacy. Special emphasis is placed on mastering modern technical solutions, such as digital soil and crop management, genetic engineering, and microbial biotechnology, which represents a response to the demands of modern “precision” agriculture.
Why enroll in the Agrobiotechnology study program?
The improvement of the program is based on monitoring the rapid development of science and technology worldwide, ensuring that graduated engineers possess the knowledge necessary to enhance production efficiency while strictly preserving natural resources and biodiversity. The study program includes the development of analytical skills, scientific research methodology, and decision-making abilities in complex agroecosystems.
The goal of the Undergraduate Academic Studies program in Agrobiotechnology is to educate highly qualified professionals who possess integrated knowledge of basic natural sciences and modern biotechnological disciplines. The program is primarily focused on developing theoretical and practical competencies necessary for a better understanding of complex biological processes in agroecosystems and their application with the aim of fundamentally improving agricultural production.
Practical training is a significant part of this program and is implemented through six phases of mandatory internships (working, production, and technological-organizational) throughout all four years of study. Through this continuous process, as well as the preparation of the final thesis, students integrate theoretical knowledge with practical skills in solving real challenges in biotechnological production.
Where can you find employment after graduation?
Upon completing this program, students acquire competencies for employment in:
- biotechnological laboratories,
- seed companies, research centers,
- agricultural companies, and
- state institutions,
- as well as for continuing education in master’s and doctoral academic studies.
