Experimental Farms
Experimental farms connect scientific knowledge and practical experience with the needs of agricultural producers and companies. At locations in Rimski Šанčevi, Sремski Karlovci, and Gladnoš, as well as at the Agrocampus in Temerin, solutions for improving crop and livestock production are developed and tested. Experimental orchards, nurseries, a winery, farms, and research facilities provide the basis for cooperation through joint projects, product and technology testing, and the transfer of research results into practice.
Producers have access to high-quality planting material for fruit trees, grapevines, and ornamental plants, as well as expert knowledge in the fields of cultivation, variety selection, and production improvement. Seminars and practical training provide familiarity with modern procedures in fruit growing and viticulture, grape processing, and wine production. In the field of livestock production, Agrocampus provides support to companies testing existing or developing new animal nutrition products and production technologies, using modern research methods and digital health monitoring of animals.
By involving business partners in research under real-world conditions, experimental farms contribute to verifying the applicability of new technologies and adapting them to the needs of farms and companies. At the same time, through practical teaching, they educate future experts equipped to respond to the demands of modern agricultural production.
NATIONAL RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL CENTER FOR INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES IN AGRICULTURE AGRO CAMPUS
Agrocampus is a research and educational center that connects science, practical teaching, and agricultural production. It enables producers and companies to cooperate through commercial experiments, testing of new products and technologies, professional training, and advisory services in real production conditions. Activities include cattle breeding, poultry research, farm management, distribution of reproductive material and animal feed, and the development of alternative protein sources. Through joint projects and knowledge transfer into practice, Agrocampus supports the improvement of production and the education of future experts.
SREMSKI KARLOVCI EXPERIMENTAL FIELD
The experimental farm in Sremski Karlovci connects scientific research, education, and production in the field of viticulture and winemaking. Research includes the study of varieties and clones, the creation of new grapevine varieties, the testing of its growth and development, and the improvement of cultivation procedures to achieve higher quality grapes and stable yields.
A rich collection of varieties and training systems, mother plantations, and a modernly equipped winery enable the execution of experiments, practical training of students, and the production of certified planting material, wine, and brandies. Among the wines created on this farm, Probus – Rector’s Wine, Dean’s Wine, Sila, Petra, Grašac, and Neoplanta stand out, having won awards at domestic and international competitions.
RIMSKI ŠANČEVI EXPERIMENTAL FIELD
The experimental field connects the production of planting material with scientific research work. The nursery produces 30,000 to 40,000 seedlings of fruit trees, grapevines, and ornamental woody and shrubby species annually, while scions and rootstocks are produced for the needs of other nurseries. Mother plantations, screenhouses, greenhouses, and glasshouses enable the production of certified planting material and the application of modern plant propagation procedures. For producers and nurseries, this experimental farm represents significant support in securing quality material for establishing plantations and landscaping spaces.
