What are the steps of the admission process?
1. Announcement of the student admission competition
The first step in the admission process is to familiarize interested candidates in detail with the competition for enrolling students into the first year of undergraduate and integrated academic studies for the current academic year. The competition is announced by the Faculty in the first half of June of the current year, two to three weeks before the official start of applications for interested candidates. The competition defines all necessary information relevant to university enrollment.
2. Application for the student admission competition
Interested candidates apply to the announced competition for admission to the first year of studies in the current academic year by submitting the required documentation. Applications can be submitted via the Faculty’s online service or in person at the Faculty’s counter. Interested candidates are invited to thoroughly familiarize themselves with the Application Instructions for the current academic year.
3. Entrance exam
Candidates taking the entrance exam for admission to undergraduate academic studies across all study programs take one exam of their choice from the following subjects: chemistry, biology, mathematics, and business economics.
Candidates applying for admission to integrated academic studies – the veterinary medicine study program – take entrance exams in biology and chemistry, while candidates who did not study Latin during their secondary education will take it at the Faculty.
4. Ranking lists and appeals
The ranking of candidates for admission to the first year of undergraduate academic and integrated studies is determined based on their overall academic performance in secondary school and the results achieved on the entrance exam. A candidate can achieve a maximum of 100 points total from both bases. Secondary school performance is awarded a maximum of 40 points, and candidates can score a maximum of 60 points on the entrance exam.
5. Enrollment and obtaining the index
Candidates who earn the right to enroll bring their original documents to the Faculty: certificates from all four years of completed secondary school and the final or graduation exam diploma. In addition, they bring an enrollment kit containing the student index booklet and two photographs. At the end of the enrollment process, the student services office assigns an index number, stamps the index, and hands it over to the student as their official student ID.
6. Freshmen Guide
The Freshmen Guide explains basic concepts and potential doubts in a simple and practical way regarding various issues that may arise during studies at the Faculty, especially in the first days or months of living in a new environment. Through the freshmen guide, the Faculty aims to introduce freshmen to the basic concepts they will encounter during their studies in the most comprehensible way possible.
Open Doors Day
Every year, the Faculty opens its doors to all interested students and future students to visit the Faculty facilities where teaching and scientific research work take place, alongside teachers and associates. During the visit, students have the opportunity to ask the Faculty staff questions regarding study programs, the application process for admission, and how to prepare and take the entrance exam.
