Veterinary Clinic

The Veterinary Clinic of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad, operating within the Department of Veterinary Medicine, represents one of the most significant educational, scientific, and professional units in the field of veterinary medicine. The Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad was founded in 1954, while the Department of Veterinary Medicine was established in 2000. Its establishment was a response to the need to educate our own veterinary professionals within the agrarian system of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina (Republic of Serbia). In 2017, the modern Veterinary Clinic with laboratories was officially opened, serving as the crown jewel in the development of the teaching base. This is the first Veterinary Clinic within the University of Novi Sad.

The Veterinary Clinic serves as a teaching base for veterinary medicine students at the Faculty of Agriculture, a healthcare institution for the treatment of animals (dogs, cats, and exotic animals), and a research base for the Department of Veterinary Medicine.

It was opened with the vision of providing veterinary students with practical experience working with patients under the supervision of teaching staff, elevating the standard of clinical teaching, and ensuring conditions for accreditation according to European criteria.

Additionally, the Veterinary Clinic also has a commercial function, meaning it provides services to the market.

The Veterinary Clinic of the Department of Veterinary Medicine in Novi Sad represents a modern teaching base, a bridge between theory and practice, a center for educating future doctors of veterinary medicine, and a significant scientific and professional resource. All of the above makes the Veterinary Clinic not only a healthcare institution, but also an important professional and scientific center that contributes to the development of veterinary medicine and the preservation of animal and human health, under the “One Health” concept.
