Bioeconomy Excellence Alliance for Stimulating Innovative and Inclusive Green Transition

About the Project

BEAMING is a Horizon Europe project aimed at strengthening excellence, innovation, and knowledge valorization in the field of bioeconomy through cooperation among higher education institutions from central, eastern, and southeastern Europe, as well as the Western Balkans. The project encourages knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and the establishment of lasting partnerships between the academic community, industry, policymakers, and society, with the goal of accelerating the green and sustainable transition.

Objectives

The project objectives are:

strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions in countries with lower research and innovation capacities;
improving knowledge and technology transfer in the field of bioeconomy;
encouraging institutional reforms and a culture of excellence in scientific research work;
developing innovation capacities through the Quadruple Helix approach, which connects science, economy, the public sector, and society;
improving international cooperation and building research capacities in Widening Countries.

Consortium

The project is coordinated by the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME, Hungary).
The consortium brings together 17 institutions from 12 European countries, including universities, research institutes, innovation agencies, and organizations supporting bioeconomy development. Partners include institutions from Serbia, Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Austria, Spain, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Albania. On behalf of the University of Novi Sad, the Faculty of Agriculture participates in the project.
