The library holds over 33,400 books and 1,270 serial publication titles. The Central Library houses most of the necessary literature required for exam preparation. The textbook collection is continuously enriched with copies of newly published textbooks issued by the faculty, purchases of missing literature, or through donations.
The Central Library is located on the first floor of the livestock pavilion, and right next to it is the reading room with sixty-six workstations, providing students with an undisturbed study environment. The operation of the library is regulated by the Library Rulebook.

UNIVERSAL DECIMAL CLASSIFICATION - UDC NUMBER
The Universal Decimal Classification (UDC or UDK) is a more developed library decimal classification system applicable to all human knowledge, devised at the end of the 19th century by Belgian bibliographers Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine. UDK consists of main and auxiliary tables, and signs for their mutual interconnection. The tables are designated by numbers from 0 to 9 (where the number is considered a decimal, not a whole number). Through the principle of hierarchy, each of the 10 main groups is divided into 10 subgroups, which are again divided into 10 smaller groups, etc., until the narrowest concepts are reached. For clarity, a dot is placed after every third number, and each decimal number is pronounced separately.
The UDC is assigned to every written scientific paper and doctoral dissertation and is assigned in our library. You need to submit the title of the paper and keywords to the e-mail address: jovan.jovicic@polj.uns.ac.rs
ISBN – INTERNATIONAL STANDARD SERIAL NUMBER
The ISBN number (International Standard Book Number) is a unique identifier of books and other bounded publications regardless of the medium on which they are published. The ISBN number represents the master designation of each monographic publication. The goal of this international standard is to coordinate and standardize the use of identification numbers so that each international standard book number designates one title or edition of a book or another monographic publication published or produced by a certain publisher. This standard determines the structure of the international standard book number and the place on the book where this number must be located. The ISBN number for all books published at the Faculty of Agriculture is obtained at the library of the Faculty of Agriculture. You need to submit the exact title of the book and the author to the e-mail address jovan.jovicic@polj.uns.ac.rs
ISSN - INTERNATIONAL STANDARD SERIAL NUMBER
ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) – International Standard Serial Number for serial publications. This number is assigned to all serial publications, i.e., those that are published continuously in a certain period (newspapers, magazines, yearbooks, monographic series, directories), whether in printed or electronic form. This number enables the identification and control of all serial publications published both at the national and international levels. It is determined by the ISSN agency within the National Library of Serbia. Contact phone: 011-244-7362
DOI - DIGITAL OBJECT IDENTIFIER
In journals included in the international cross-referencing system (CrossRef), articles are assigned a special numerical designation (Digital Object Identifier, DOI). For journals whose international promotion is supported by the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia, the DOI is assigned by the National Library of Serbia, according to a special procedure, immediately before the publication of the issue. The DOI is printed on the first page of the article in a permanent prominent place. The list of journals included in DOI Serbia is located at http://www.doiserbia.nb.rs/
CIP - CATALOGING IN PUBLICATION
In accordance with the Law on Library Activity, for every published publication, a cataloging record in publication – CIP (Cataloging in Publication) is created. For publishers from AP Vojvodina, the cataloging record in publication is created by the Library of Matica Srpska in Novi Sad in cooperation with the National Library of Serbia. It is necessary to take fully prepared material before printing to Matica Srpska, CIP Cataloging Department, contact phone 021-420-199, ext. 288.
